I had a 24 hour test drive of a 500 over the weekend. It's quite a nice car. Kind of rough on the highways, but I think the Euro designation of 'city car' covers that much better than the US 'subcompact'. I'd pick one up and love it.

I think I'd take the 500L.

I originally wasn't interested in it when it was announced, then I had a 1-2 punch from seeing it in person (it's nowhere near as big as I thought, close to C-Max size) and riding in the competing Countryman. That got my girlfriend interested in an L, but sadly we didn't have time for a test ride when we returned the 500.
For city use, though, I'd still take the Cinquecento. It might even fit in a Pittsburgh garage.

I'd have to have the Abarth.
There is something amazing about that small of a car that naturally spits fire from the exhausts.

Using the finest of left over GM silver.

The interior is something wicked, too.
But I'm interested in the 500 as a practical city car, and an Abarth is simply too much money for that. I can pick up a lightly used manual Pop for about $13k whereas Abarths go for double that.

It's blue.

Good lord I had no idea they were that cheap used.

I'll take your word on it. It looks silver on my screen.

I'd take an Abarth over a 500L. The 500L looks like a 500 with a disease.

I just flipped 5000 miles on mine. I mostly use it for highway driving. It's not too rough and the gas mileage more than makes up for any minor discomfort. I say get it!

I will! But later, as a second car. The first car will be something slightly bigger.

That's why I went small, my wife has the big car.
